  1. Wow wow wow – wow for the lions returning, directly as a result of the work of the Milgis Trust and the Samburu community who have developed a true partnership built on trust with Helen & Pete over many years… long may it continue for it must if the region is to re-generate. Wow for the Elis slowly beginning to return to their old stomping ground… this is important that they once more feel secure and take the pressure away from other regions of Laikipia where they had moved to. And wow for the orange trees and the school….real community progress.

  2. Andrew and I feel just soooo privileged that we walked and experienced many of those magic moments together with all of you! Every safari with you is a treat beyond words, but this January one was extraordinary ! The birds, the flowers, the rich lush greeness of it all (and the fabulous configuration of the planets!!) was beyond compare! Thank you again to you and all your amazing Team.

  3. Wow, I absolutely cannot believe those pictures! They’re stunningly beautiful. It’s incredible to think that all of that was there but dormant, just waiting to come to life. It truly is breathtaking and magical.

  4. Hi Helen and Pete,

I’m writing to tell you how much I enjoy your journal. You may remember me, I worked for Dick and Diana ( Hedges ) for many years. Northern Kenya is the most amazing place and it’s good to know you’ve had some rain.

Although I had to return to the U.K. in 2000 I still make an annual visit to Kenya. I consider myself one of the luckiest to have experienced your wonderful land. Keep up the good work, you’re doing amazing things!

My best wishes and thoughts, Lin ( Williams )

  5. Brilliant Helen – know how you feel – just back from Maanzoni – green green – swimming in dam amongst 10 baby Gippie Geese goslings; driving and seeing Black bellied bustard and babies – nature is WONDERFUL! Well done and love

  6. Wonderful photos, Helen! Love to see life spring back like this. I bet you’re seeing flowers that have been dormant for ages.
Great to hear that lions are roaming the Milgis again!
    Much love, Kat
