The People of Samburu really, really are incredibly grateful to TEAM PANKAJ for finding the food, packing it into beautiful waterproof bags, transporting it the 400 kms to Samburu county… Apparently 10000 bags… Out of that 6000 bags x 22 kgs of nourishing goodies which the Milgis had the pleasure of distributing!!…

The story!!

of the first six lorries five made it actually to there destinations that night but one lorry never made it to Urra and spent 3 days on a hill side!! the owner of the lorry was fretting BUT what to do.. Our land cruisers could not move it!
after the first 6 lorries battled we decided because the roads now had been washed away in places, we had to do the distribution in our land cruisers.. There were no 4 WD lorries in the area..

the pictures speak themselves from here!!

We’re VERY happy that we got involved in this amazing activity. It was a great experience for us. We came across things we don’t see/hear during our usual trips. The distribution was so timely that people talked and said if this food did not come some people would have died of starvation. Every body was saying this food is ‘maana from nkai’. It came when people were suffering and desperate as their livestock were dying. WE’RE VERY GRATEFUL for this.

In some areas there was way more people than hampers so they divided the food fairly and made sure every one got their fair share..

a message from us all up north… These hampers were beautifully put together to really help the people.. TO EASE HUNGER during this very hard time… Never has anyone up here seen such service.. So from every single person that received a hamper from TEAM PANKAJ, we are EXTREMELY grateful..
Fantastic work! Well done to everyone involved!
Hi Helen! I need to get going donating again! Is this food shortage because of a drought or covid (covid relief fund?)? I hope you’re well! All is good in Chicago!
Kate
Could you send me email of person I set up donating with please? Thanks!
